AB - 문말 표현「モノダ」는 용법이 매우 복잡하고 까다로워 학습하기 어렵고 의미를 혼동하기 쉬운 항목이며, 일본어학습과 일본어 번역에 있어서도 많은 오용·오역 사례가 나타나는 일본어 표현 중 하나이다. 「モノダ」는 흔히 한국어로「것이다」로 해석되지만 그 의미와 용법은 그보다 훨씬 다양하다.
이러한 점에 주목하여 본고는 일·한 수필 번역 작품과, 일·한, 한·일 시나리오 대역본의「モノダ」용례를 ①本性·性質, ②當爲, ③過去의 習慣·回想, ④感情·感慨, ⑤説明·解説, ⑥意訳, ⑦省略의 일곱 가지로 분류하여 한국어와의 대응관계를 地文과 회화문으로 나누어 고찰하였다
고찰 결과 가장 많이 나타난 의미는 장르별로 차이가 있었다. 표현상으로는 설명·해설의 ‘～ 것이다(～겁니다)’ 의 표현이 가장 많이 나타났다. 그 중에서 시나리오의 감정·감개의 용례가 가장 다양하게 나타났고, 특히 韓·日보다는 日·韓 대역본에서 감정·감개에 다양한 표현이 나타났다.
