AB - 본 연구는 장기기억, 이른바 학습항목의 정착이라고 하는 관점에서 한국인 일본어 학습자의 한자 학습 전략 (strategy)에 관한 분석을 꾀했다. 본고는 정보처리모델을 중심으로, 학습자의 장기기억을 위해 보다 효과적인 한자 학습 방법이 무엇인가를 밝히는데 주된 목적이 있으며, 이를 위해 다음의 두 가지 사항에 초점을 맞추어 분석, 고찰했다. 첫 째, 학습자의 일본어 능력과 학습자 자신이 효과적이라고 인식하고 있는 한자 학습 전략과는 어떠한 관계가 있는가, 둘 째, 동등한 일본어 능력(중급)을 갖춘 일본어 학습자들 사이에서의 일본어 한자 능력과 한자 학습 전략과는 어떠한 상관관계가 있는가 하는 점이다.
그 결과 한국인일본어학습자의 일본어 능력에 따른 한자 학습 전략은 기억 방법에서 어떤 일정한 과정의 이행이 보여지기는 했지만, 전체적으로 볼 때 일본어의 능력에 따른 차이는 그다지 크게 나타나지 않았다. 한편 일본어 능력이 중급인 학습자들을 대상으로 한 한자 학습 능력과 학습 전략 사이의 상관관계는, 두 가지 메타 인지 전략과 필순에 관한 전략사이에서 나타났다. 이는 한자 학습 지도가 학습자의 일본어 능력을 고려하여 행해져야 함은 물론, 초급단계에서부터 한자 능력 하위군에 대한 전략을 고려한 지도가 필요함을 보여주는 것이다. 또한 일본어 중급 수준의 학습자들에 대해서는 재학습 지도에 더욱 더 주목할 필요가 있는 것이다.
