ABSTRACT

In this paper, 337 Japanese language education research papers published between 2023 and 2024 were classified into 10 categories according to the classification of previous studies and reported trends in Japanese education research. Among the 337 Japanese language education research papers, ‘teaching and learning' was the most common, followed by ‘acquisition and misuse,' ‘teacher and learner,' and ‘textbooks and textbooks.'In this paper, 53 papers in the field of ICT utilization and online classes among ‘teaching and learning' were summarized. In ‘ICT utilization and online classes,' research in the field of ‘learning activities and classes using ICT' is being conducted the most, followed by ‘created AI,' ‘synchronized and asynchronous online classes,' ‘blended learning and flip learning,' ‘others,' and ‘e-learning status and tasks and prospects.' Future research will likely develop toward deepening ICT utilization, practical application of generative AI, online and face-to-face learning comparison, data-based educational research, developing teaching methods that reflect international perspectives, and improving digital literacy.
