ABSTRACT

The Purpose of this study was on the Christian Counseling for anger control and treatment of adolescence. Anger is a very commonly experienced and displayed emotion during adolescence. therefore, An understand and control of anger, including the adolescence counselor’s own anger, is basis for effective Christian Counseling. In the Old Testament alone there are almost six hundred references to wrath or anger, and this theme continues in the New Testament. Several Bible passages imply that control is possible and indicate how this can be done. There are many reasons anger invades adolescence’s lives. Anger is triggered by a vast array of emotions and events. Some of the more prominent and significant are frustration, alienation, perfectionism, hurt or threat of hurt, injustice, fear, or anger as a learned response. Helping an adolescent or preadolescent who is struggling with anger may be a difficult and lengthy task. However, it is possible to do so, particularly if the following guidelines are kept in mind: help counselees admit anger, help counselees consider the sources of anger, clarify biblical thinking, help counselees express anger, confession and forgiveness, growing spiritually in Jesus Christ. As this thesis has shown, the Bible and psychology can combine to increase out understanding of anger and can help counselors to be more effective in working with adolescence who struggle with anger and self-control.
