ABSTRACT

Self-counseling is proposed as an alternative to educational counseling. The theological presuppositions on the goal and the method of self-counseling are presented. Above all, the communicative aspect of counseling is emphasized in terms of ‘sequence of interaction’. Self-counseling is expected to be realized as a training tool by suggesting ‘counseling text grammar’and by instructing trainee to construct the transcript of self-counseling. The theological as well as psychological rationales for supervision are discussed by way of illustration of self-counseling transcripts.
