ABSTRACT

This research is to clarify on Holy Spirit's works in individual Christian counseling for a client's change. Secular psychotherapy is unable to solve client's problems fundamentally and effectively. Evangelical counseling ought to use not psychological technique but means of grace. Holy Spirit has to be foundation of Christian counseling. Ultimate purpose of Christian counseling is to be effective change of a client. Counseling without Holy Spirit is not useful counseling for a church. Secular counseling was based on the psychotherapy that ignores work of Holy Spirit. Accordingly, Christian counseling does not accept secular psychotherapy totally. Those who counsel biblically recognize Holy Spirit as the main body of clients' change. Fundamentally, intervention, analysis, restoration, and change for a client are work of Holy Spirit.
