ABSTRACT

This study is a Christian counseling discourse for the happiness of the baby boomers (new older) generation. Today, most baby boomers are unable to prepare for their long old age. This is because of the support of elderly parents and the support of adult children who have not yet been employed due to difficulties in finding employment. The baby boomers are a group who have spent their middle ages physically healthy, have higher educational backgrounds than older generations, and have social experiences that demonstrate professional knowledge and generativity. However, most baby boomers are threatened with happiness(well-being), so Christian counseling needs to be sought for them. Therefore, this study will examine the subjective well-being and spiritual well-being closely related to the happiness of baby boomers. In addition, I would like to examine biblical figures who achieve self integrity by demonstrating generativity and lay the foundation for the Christian counseling discourse on new older. Until now, the discourse of the new older of the baby boomers had focused only on psychological well-being, so it did not reflect spiritual well-being, and it was also a discourse that excluded the non-Christian elderly. Above all, Christian counseling discourse that strengthens spiritual well-being should be established so that Christianity can contribute to a happy life in old age.
