Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of the ethics regulations of the Korea Association of Education Consulting & Coaching is to stipulate matters concerning the composition and operation of the ‘Research Ethics Committee’.
Article 2 (Object)
Article 3 (Research ethics committee)
1. The Editorial chairman of this journal shall take the position of chairman. The Committee shall consist all of the members.
2. The term of office of a member is the same as that of an editorial member.
Article 4 (Functions of Research ethics committee)
1. Reported research irregularities related to academic societies
2. Matters for the prevention of fraudulent activities in academic research
3. Other matters to be referred to by the Chairman and the Chef
Article 5 (Definition of research misconduct)
'Research misconduct' refers to forgery, falsification, plagiarism, improper authorship of the thesis, duplicate publication of thesis, and other acts of conducting research in an unlawful way. The specific matters is based on the contents of the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development and National Research Foundation of Korea on February 2011.
1. 'Forgery' refers to the act of making false data or research results that do not exist.
2. 'Falsification' refers to the act of distorting the contents or results by artificially manipulating research materials, equipment, processes etc. or by arbitrarily modifying or deleting data.
3. ‘Plagiarism’ refers to the act of stealing the ideas, research contents, and results of others without proper approval or quotation.
4. 'Overlapping publication' refers to re-publishing a paper of which the content is exactly the same or almost the same as one’s paper already published in another journal without informing the editor or reader of the existence of one's own paper already published.
5. 'Other misconduct' refers to the act of deliberately obstructing the investigation of one’s paper, or other misconduct, or harming the informant.
Article 12(Processing on research misconduct)
1. The committee must report the results and contents of the preliminary and main investigations to the chef of KAECC within 10 days after the completion and determination of the preliminary and main investigations.
2. The report of the results of the preliminary investigation and the main investigation shall include the following matters.
①Contents of the report
② Misconduct subject to investigation
③ List of investigative members of the committee
④ Whether this investigation was conducted and the basis for judgment
⑤ The role of the examinee in the study and whether there is any misconduct
⑥ Related evidence or witnesses
⑦ Details of objections or pleadings raised by the whistleblower and the person under investigation and the details of handling them
⑧ The final result of the investigation
3. After consulting with the chef of KAECC, the committee must notify the research ethics violators of the result report and the society's actions in written document.
4. A submitter judged to have used research misconduct is not allowed to publish an academic journal. In the case of already published papers, they shall be deleted from the academic journal's paper list. Moreover, the fact of plagiarism shall be notified to the head of the affiliate institution of the person who is involved in research misconduct.
5. Since the authors whose papers were judged to have research misconduct, the publication of academic papers shall be prohibited for at least five years.
6. Authors of papers judged to have committed research misconduct may be given a warning, suspension or deprivation of membership in the membership of the Journal, and notification to related organizations.
