ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify where the AFNA alumnae have been worked after their discharge and how they utilized their competencies in society. Methods: Among the 2,021 AFNA's 11th to 40th alumnae, 1,435 who had contactable address received the survey via e-mail or mail. 397 data were collected for analysis Results: To the survey, 74.8% of the subjects were working in civilian sector. Among the various working positions, school health related positions took the largest proportion by 34.7%, which was followed by jobs in hospitals 19.2%. From their retirement to present, 324 answered they had one to four job experiences. The total number of their job positions was 585: hospital related positions took the largest proportion by 32.3%, which was followed by positions in school health 25.1%, public health, education including university faculty and others. 42.1% of the subjects got other jobs within one year, so we can consider that they were quickly re-entered in civilian working area. Conclusion: The research showed that the AFNA alumnae are distinguished professional who can serve well in various civilian sectors.
