ABSTRACT

Purpose : The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship among cadets' life adjustment,stress, self-esteem, and ego-resilience in the Armed Forces Nursing Academy. Methods : The studyis a cross sectional research on 300 female nursing cadets. The instruments were revised StudentAdaptation to College Questionnaire, Stress, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and revised ego-resiliencescale. Data was analyzed using frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regressionanalysis. Results : The results revealed that the cadet's life adjustment, stress, self-esteem, andego-resilience were 4.2/7, 2.0/4, 3.1/4, and 2.80/4, respectively. There were significant positivecorrelation among cadets' life adjustment, self-esteem, and ego-resilience, and they explained 41.2%of the cadets' life adjustment based on multiple regression analysis. On the other hand, there was asignificant negative correlation between cadets' life adjustment and stress. Conclusion : Thesefindings indicate that it is necessary to increase self-esteem and ego-resilience and decrease stressfor improving cadets' life adjustment. It is important to develop a more effective discipline programbased on the results of this study.
