Tackling Juveniles' Anti-Social Behaviors

ABSTRACT

The primary purpose of this article is to examine juvenile delinquency by employing the term 'anti-social behaviors' and to explore policy alternatives to tackle juveniles' anti-social behaviors, based on the analysis on the contemporary situation of Korean minors' anti-social behaviors and the case study on British policies to tackle anti-social behaviors. To the end, this article first discusses the theory on anti-social behavior in terms of its concept, causes and typology. The next chapter is allocated to the understanding of the contemporary situation and problems of Korean juveniles' anti-social behaviors, paying special attention to the legal and administrative systems for handling juveniles' anti-social behaviors. Then follows the case study on the British efforts to challenge anti-social behaviors. This article concludes with the exploration of effective ways to tackle juveniles' anti-social behaviors in Korea, by relying upon the empirical analysis, targeting both counties of Korea and Britain, on juveniles' anti-social behaviors.
