ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to study 'Hanyang Film Corporation', which was established in December 1961 and was at the forefront of Korean cinema. Hanyang Film Corporation was established with the policy of the government to promote the film industry, and it was established for the modern development of the Korean movie industry by eliminating the existing chungmuro production practices. Hanyang Film Corporation, which invested 500 million won in capital of the Hanyang Foundation, produced a number of popular works in the early 1960s, making films that responded to aggressive planning and audience preferences. Hanyang Film Corporation has produced great master dramas, youth films, and realism films such as <sonogong>, <jinsihwangjewa mallijangseong>, <gulbi>, < hyeolmaek>, <cheongchungyosil>, <malttiyeodaesaeng>, <apyeonjeonjaeng>. However, unlike the motivational motive that was shown at the time of its establishment, Hanyang Film Corporation produced short films for three to four years. The fate of many film companies that had to undergo trial and error in and out of the process of the film's industrial development in the 1960s could not be solved by the passion of "making and distributing a good movie." In this paper, I review the path that Hanyang Film Corporation has been walking through, and compare it with the situation of the film industry in the 1960s with the motive and purpose of the foundation, production films and works trends. This is a review of aspects of the history of the film that were not mentioned in the history of Korean film history, and to inform them that their history is still of great value.
