ABSTRACT

The signs of fantasy that have appeared in the fantasy investigation drama since 2010s have strong presence, but cannot be easily interpreted by the logic of the reality. In the persistent process to chase the truth, we come to face the ugly naked face of this society, and raise fundamental questions and have doubt about justice. Yet, because of the characteristics of the genre of an investigation drama, it focuses on securing temporary safety of a community by tracking down and eliminating a particular assailant of a capital case. As the result, terrible cases are solved with difficulty by the supernatural abilities of the representatives of the governmental authority, but they move on to the next step that crucial truth is evasively arranged or concealed. Of course, it's meaningful enough that the solution of a certain case can harbor a person's grudge who hasn't been protected socially. However, the voice of those who cannot help becoming monsters in the present system cannot be restored as a collective experience, and fail to become the fuse that can bring about sympathy, self-reflection and fundamental changes of the society. Consequently, a prosecutor and a police investigator, the heroes who try to defend the system, have the limitation that they cleverly block the path to the depth of a problem and restrict themselves to the role of trouble shooters and competent representatives of the governmental authority making full use of transcendental power given to themselves.
