ABSTRACT

This study is aimed for clarifying the meaning of the education of creative writing of experience narrative focusing on the imagery of personal experience from the life-world. It is to expand the scope of creative writing toward lifelong education and make literature a way of life, getting away from the notion that creative writing is the exclusive property of professionals. The concept of personal experience in the study is reconceptualized in the light of relationship between a subject and a language for literature education. The personal experience in literature education includes both perception and emotion of each individual, so it should be reinterpreted as rather direct and vivid experience which covers experience focused on perception to affective aspect in terms of the existential aspect of individuals. However, in order to understand the meaning of personal experience, there is no way but the interpretation of time in one's own life. Therefore, it is important to find out that the whole process which makes their own personal experience embodied especially focusing on autobiographical narrative is the way to approach to self-understanding through personal experience. Personal experiential self-understanding is the whole process which enables to achieve self-realization through reading and writing their own personal experience. Establishing of identity through writing experience narrative is one way to reach self-realization truly, and it could be significant in the education of creative writing of experience narrative
