AB - This article is intended to examine the leftist literary groups and theirliterary discussions after the liberation. Leftist-led national literature in thisperiod should be identified as an extension of KAPF in the colonial period.
Immediately after the liberation Korean writers established two literaryorganizations, 'the Central Committee for Korean Literature Construction'and 'Chosun Proletarian Literature Alliance'. But these movements werevery impatient.
They have continued to debate the theory in the course of confrontationand conflict for a while. But in order to preempt the upper hand, theyneeded a background of political forces. Aspects of conflict andconfrontation was reproduced by new groups, 'the Korean WritersFederation' and 'North Chosun Culture and Art Federation'. Howeversome theorists such as Lim Hwa, An Ham-Kwang found the commondenominator, national literature. They agreed the necessity of 'nationalliterature' which is based on the ideology of the proletariat. The liberationperiod was the only time of coalition under the slogan 'national literature' in history.
