AB - This paper investigates the adopted criteria for selecting titles based upon book annotations included in Hong's Annotated Bibliography of Older Books, which was published by Hong Seok-ju, a scholar of the reign of Sunjo of Yi dynasty, in 1810. This study examined various types of criteria practised in Hong's Annotated Bibliography of Older Books and then compared them to the Modern general library criteria of book selection, and found that Hong's one is a superior criteria as mush as a Modern's.
