ABSTRACT

This study investigates the plagiarized cases of Nakga Pildam, or a classified annoted bibliography of older Chinese books compiled by the later Chosun scholar, Yi Hak-su, based on Ma Duan-lin's Wenxian Tongkau Jingji-kau, or The Bibliographical Part of the Guide to Older Chinese Culture and Institutions in Song-Yuan Dynasty. In so doing, this study sheds lights on the distinct characters of Nakga Pildam from Wenxian Tongkau Jingji-kau. Even though the former appropriated the latter's contents, Nakga Pildam has its own distinguishing qualities and a significant meaning as the second classified list which has the introductory words and outlines of classes after the Hong-ssi Tokseo-rok, or Classified Annotated Bibliography of Chinese and Korean Older Books in the history of Korean bibliography.
