AB - This experimental research is a follow-up study of “A research on the restoration of metal printing types casting and printing technical history” conducted by Cheongju University and sponsored by Cheongju-si. This research is aimed to restore about 40 movable metal types cast in the Joseon period. This year, the goal of this research is to restore 6 kinds of Kabin-ja Movable Types(1434) and 4 kinds of Korean alphabet Movable Metal Types, including movable types used for printing the "Songs of the Moon’s Reflection on a Thousand River(Wrin ch’gang chi kok, 1447)" and "Episodes from the Life of the Buddha (Skpo sangjl, 1447)". In this paper, the experimental process of selecting prints and typesetting 4 kinds of Korean alphabet metal types are described.
