ABSTRACT

This study is one of the series of researches about Zengdoga type(證道歌字) used for printing Nammyungcheonhwasangsongzengdoga(南明泉和尙頌證道歌) in the Goryeo dynasty. In this study, we tried to reveal that Zengdoga type(證道歌字) were also used for printing the original base copy of Donggukyisanggukjip(東國李相國集) published in Bunsadaejangdogam(分司大藏都監). In this study, some evidences and background information are presented as follows: If the types used for printing Donggukyisanggukjip(東國李相國集) and Zengdoga(證道歌) are the same one, it is not true that Gogumsangjungyemoon(古今詳定禮文) was published by another new metal types. Consequently Zengdoga(證道歌), Sangjungyemoon(詳定禮文) and Yisanggukjip(李相國集) were published by the same metal type, that is, Zengdoga type(證道歌字) in 10 years. At that times, Zengdoga types(證道歌字) were made in Gaeseong(開城), later moved to Ganghwa island(江華島), and returned to Gaeseong(開城) in 1270. Since a lot of actual Zengdoga types(證道歌字) were recently open to the public, they could be used to refute the negative argument of Chinese scholars against ‘Bok(山/復)’ type held at the National Museum of Korea and ‘Jeon(方顚)’ type held in North Korea.
