AB - Pyeong-Nan Wonjong Gongsin-Noggwon(「平難原從功臣錄券」) is a book which recorded the titles of positions and the names of retainers who suppressed the Jeong Yeo-rip’s revolt. This study aims to analyze the reasons or and procedures of granting Noggwon by examining the existing two books of Pyeong-Nan Wonjong Gongsin-Noggwon printed with Jaeju-Gabinja(再鑄甲寅) metal movable types. Pyeong-Nan Wonjong Gongsin-Noggwon was composed of the beginning(卷首), the body(本文), and the end(卷末). Gwang-Kuk Wonjong meritorious retainers formed the total of 685 persons(1st grade: 129 persons, 2nd grade: 144 persons, 3rd grade: 412 persons) with 180 official titles. Also an analysis of their social status confirmed that of 685 persons, “Yangban(兩班)” constituted the largest group(456 persons: 66.6%), “Jung-in(中人)” were the second largest group (122 persons: 17.8%), “Yang-in(良人)” were 81 persons(11.8%), and “Cheon-in(賤人)” were only 26 persons(3.8%).
