AB - This study tried to analyse the various abbreviation marking of title in Buddhist literature. According to the study, we could know the facts as follows ;
1. Types of title abbreviation are like syllable omission, contents abbreviation, author name abbreviation, but mostly was syllable omission preferred.
2. The syllable in the title of cover page was abbreviated to 3 to 4 syllable whose trends is up to 70% of all.
3. Title at the center of pages was more shorter form than the cover title, its syllable mainly shorter than 4 letters whose share was 97% of all.
4. Shorter form in the title at the center page might come from limited space of engraving spot at Pansim(版心).
