AB - This study dealt with various Esoteric Buddhism book which had been published in Goryeo Dynasty. In this paper, we examined general aspect of Esoteric Buddhism in Goryeo Dynasty first, and it’s development and characteristic by period of the Dynasty were reviewed. In Goryeo Dynasty, various books of Esoteric Buddhism were continuously produced by country, governmental office, temple or private house. For example, the collection of the Tripitaka Koreana is representative case. Literature in the category of Esoteric Buddhism was range over old books to Budda’s Mandara and Buddhist formula that is Dharani, a sheet of woodblock-printing so forth. In this study, we mainly focused in the literature by the private, temple and governmental office, that is quite distinguished part to that of by the national level. Consequently, we could find out specific title of books were markedly printed in the Dynasty. That is Jangsookyung, Buljungsimdaranikyung, Bumseochongjijip so on. According to this publishing trend, Esoteric Buddhism of the Dynasty is remained in personal level and people aimed at their private happiness, peace and welfare.
