ABSTRACT

This study analyzes on the Jumunjakhae by Jeong Kyeong-Se, Ubok. The major findings are as fellows: (1) Jumunjakhae is abstract of extensive study Jujadaejeon published by Ubok in King Gwanghae 14 in order to help understand easily. (2) Ubok studied every section to extract important sections entirely or partially in regards to governing and studies. (3) Jumunjakhae’s organization method initially follows Jujadaejeon and uses Jujaseojeolyo as secondary organization method, which indicates that Ubok successes Toegyeo’s study and belief. (4) Ubok used many methods in his study such as preservation by including the entire document, partial extraction of important contents, exclusion of any immaterial contents, compilation and combination of partial/full contents, grouped by the similarities, and append and annotate errata as necessary. (5) the initial compilation Jumunjakhae (1622) was published on woodblock by Lee Man, and was followed by republication done by Song Jun-Gil where he updated publication record. Then, it was published again by Usanseowon(愚山書院) in King Heonjong 13(1847) which is still available today.
