ABSTRACT

The study is based on a survey of old books at Sangju Hyanggyo, we tried to bibliographic analysis such as the status of the books and the form of each books. Through this study, we intend to introduce the collection of Sangju Hyanggyo, which was formed in the late Joseon Dynasty, and to help understand the full extent of the Sangju area’s records. The collected books by subject, there are a total of 23 titles as 6 related materials for ritual ceremonies, 9 lists for Sangju Hyanggyo, 4 other books for qualification and discipline for Hyanggyo. These books are mostly manuscripts from the 17th and 18th centuries. The above materials are very valuable materials to look at all aspects of the community in the Sangju area in the late Joseon Dynasty.
