AB - Recently, the government and local governments have gathered residents of the community to plan and implement various community-building activities for the village. As part of this project, a number of village communities have been formed nationwide. However, after the project is complete, a number of village communities were unable to continue their activities. Therefore, in order to understand how the Chamisul Apartment Village Community, which was formed on the basis of the village community support project in 2007, has been sustained, this study analyzed the participation structure of village community members and the changes that took place after the formation of the village community. According to our research, the Chamisul Village Community attracted and organized the residents with the educational training program. In addition, community activities were being carried out through various participation methods so that individual members of the community could demonstrate their capabilities.
The community could sustain itself through the active participation of the newly organized resident groups and through changes in the roles of existing members. It was possible because the community provided various pathways through which residents could participate.
