ABSTRACT

This study of literature review analyzes the research trend identified of dance/movement therapy(DMT) studies investigating survivors of domestic violence from 2011 to 2021. The combination of keywords such as ‘dance/movement therapy,’ ‘violence,’ ‘abuse,’ ‘session,’ and ‘intervention’ was used tosearch for domestic database in RISS, KISS, DBpia, and National Assembly Library. The internationalstudies were searched by using database of the Google Scholar, and artcles in journal of The Arts inPsychotherapy. Selection criteria included six studies out of 258 studies in total. Of the six studies,methodologies included adapted quantitative (1), qualitative (4), and mixed (1) research methods. Participants included adult females over the age of 18 years. Studies included individual and groupsessions with a range of one to seven hours in length. Various props and creative interventions were usedin sessions. Founded Interventions in DMT were categorized by Levine & Land (2016)’s classification. The result undicated that that DMT helped to safely return the senses separated from the mind to theiroriginal senses, and to experience and expand various emotions for domestic survivors. Implications forDMT practice with domestic survivors are suggested.
