ABSTRACT

This study analyzes security vulnerabilities in IoT device network environments using HTTP, focusing on packet sniffing attacks, and proposes corresponding improvement methods. In the experiment, an IoT device was implemented using an ESP8266 microcontroller, and a communication environment was constructed in which a client could access an HTTP-based web server. In addition, packet sniffing techniques were used to analyze communications between the IoT device and the client to identify security vulnerabilities in HTTP-based communication. The proposed security enhancement method was then applied and its effectiveness was experimentally validated. This study emphasizes the need for secure design in HTTP-based IoT systems and presents a practical approach for improving security.
