AB - This study aims to define military shooting range noise, examine its impact on humanhealth, and compare national and international noise assessment methods to propose an integratedevaluation framework. The study conducts a comparative analysis of military noise criteria used inSouth Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan. It proposes a multi-indexintegrated assessment model tailored to the unique characteristics of military ranges where bothsmallfirearm and largefirearm(defined by the 20mm threshold) are operated. The Military NoiseImpact Index (MNII), based on NATO and WHO recommendations, is introduced as a comprehensiveindicator. This research serves as a practical foundation for mitigating military-civilian noise conflictsand improving related policies.
