AB - This study was conducted as a foundational research to establish a mid- to long-term comprehensive development plan for public libraries of Gapyeong-gun. To achieve the research objectives, surveys and interviews were conducted with local residents and library officials. The key discussion based on the findings are as follows. First, there is a need to run lifelong programs and tailored programs for the information disadvantaged. Second, it is necessary to secure the latest library materials. Third, there is a need to work closely with private and school libraries in the county for efficient collection management and service. Fourth, consideration should be given to the creation of a complex cultural space where people can enjoy various leisure and cultural activities. Fifth, active publicity activities are needed. Sixth, additional library staff should be recruited to maintain and improve the satisfaction of local residents and operate efficiently. Seventh, it is necessary to create a space for efficient collection management.
