AB - The purpose of this research is to compare the present education for information professionals in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It is intended to find out how the differences in the professional organization's role on the education and the educational institution‘s status of the two countries influence on the professional education. The research was done through the reviews of literature searched and the analyses of the data on the web-based home pages of the institutions concerned. It is concluded that the differences have caused the different educational patterns of the countries. The similarities and differences are interpreted and some suggestions are provided.
