AB - At the time of operating and studying the subject special librarians of university libraries, an aim of this study is to seek the ways for the users to be aware and make the best use of them, and to receive the necessary assistance from them. To achieve this, I examined carefully the operation and management states, and surveyed and analyzed the actual users' awareness of these operations. Furthermore, I investigated the way to improve the required qualifications to be subject-special librarians and the users' awareness of them. Therefore, I finally examined the way how they reconsidered the actual users in the university libraries.
