AB - This study aims to reveal the problems of the education of library management area in library and information science and to seek possible methods for solving the problems. It was revealed that the number of subjects of library management area was often changed by the influence of information science. It was also disclosed that the education of library management does not satisfy what the librarians' demand. The study provides the following suggestions for the better education of library management: first, the establishment of the standardization of library and information science curriculum which includes the provision of the number, title and contents of the subjects of library management and secondly, close cooperation with librarians when opening new subjects of library management area.
