ABSTRACT

The present National Curriculum emphasizes both improving English communicativecompetence and enhancing creativity in English education. This study reviewscommunicative competence, the task-based teaching and the creativity, and thendesigns a task-based English lesson plan to meet the demands of the nationalcurriculum. After defining some terms and discussing about setting the goals of alesson that can improve English communicative competence and enhance creativity,the study develops a task-based English lesson plan including the lesson goals,worksheets that are helpful to achieve the lesson goals, and the overview of the lesson procedure. The lesson plan is helpful in pre-teacher training, fulfils the demands of the national curriculum, provides appropriate teaching materials to English teachers, and facilitates related researches and studies.
