The purpose of the study is to analyze the existing literature and to suggest future researchdirections in the big data security area. This study identifies 62 research articles and analyses theirpublication year, publication media, general research approach, specific research method, and research topic. According to the results of the analyses, big data security research is at its intial stage in which non-empiricalstudies and research dealing with technical issues are dominant. From the research topic perspective, the areademonstrates the signs of initial research stage in which proportion of the macro studies dealing with overallissues is far higher than the micro ones covering specific implementation methods and sectoral issues. A fewpromising topics for future research include overarching framework on big data security, big data securitymethods for different industries, and government policies on big data security. Currently, the big data securityarea does not have sufficient research results. In the future, studies covering various topics in big data securityfrom multiple perspectives are anticipated.

As the numbers of various cyber-crimes have sharply increased, the importance of securinginformation has also been emphasized. Despite the government’s constant efforts to solve the issue,they hardly work in practice, and cases related to information security are still on the rise. This studyinvestigates the reasons for the discrepancy that occurs when a solution is put to action. The research analyzesthe recent shift in the administrative system with regard to information security and officials’awareness of theshift, focusing on members of local government. The results of the study confirm a steady attempt includingchanges in institutions at the level of the central government. However, there is still a lack of personnel andbudget support at the local government level as well as not much change in the awareness of informationsecurity.

This study discusses the operating systems upgrade to motivation of windows users. To discussthis issues, research hypotheses were set based on Unified Theory of Acceptance Use ofTechnology(UTAUT) and Theory of Reasoned Action(TRA). The data were collected from undergraduate students. Total of 199 data were used for the analysis. The results of the analysis were summarized into two ways. first,performance expectancy and effort expectancy has a positive influence on attitude towards upgrade the operatingsystems. Second, social influence, facilitating conditions, and attitude had a positive influence on intentiontowards upgrade the operating systems. Thus, when users perceived a high degree of performance expectancy,effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions towards upgrade the operating systems, theyevaluated more positively the upgrade the operating systems.
