ABSTRACT

The key factor for collaboration among supply chain partners is the real-time exchange of large amounts of information, including planning and operational data. The backbone of the supply chain management is information technology(IT), which is used to share information among supply chain partners for more effective decision-making. Therefore, IT can be viewed as serving as an essential enabler of collaboration between partners in the supply chain. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of IT usage and IT performance on collaboration performance among supply chain partners, and to confirm if strategic alignment between IT and business, IT capacity, top management support are the enablers of IT usage. For this purpose, we surveyed 250 companies that have experienced collaboration with supply chain partners. As a result, the research model satisfied the fit indices for the structural equation modeling. Also, strategic alignment, IT capacity and top management support were found to have a significant impact on IT usage, which then brings considerable influence on IT performance and collaboration performance. IT performance, furthermore, affects the collaboration performance in a positive way.
