ABSTRACT

As the information society has come, not only the organization of society is being changed but also a teaching system and learning methods have been changing progressively. E-learning which is a kind of interactive learning methods has been spreading extensively through the various learning materials like animation or moving picture. In Korea, the Law of E-Learning Industry Development has been in force since 2004. E-learning is enforced in obdience to the Copyright Law, the Computer Program Protection Law etc. also. I would pose a question that the existing laws deal with a new learning method efficiently without insufficiency. There have been some studies on the legal issues of the e-learning conducted by legal scholars. However those studies are generally concentrated on the library service connecting with digital distance education. This research deals with the legal issues of the e-learning from the standpoint relating to the Korean laws. I would like to put a construction on the Korean laws first of all. Korean laws, as it stands, cannot cope with the elearning environment efficiently. I’d like to make a proposal of revising the Korean laws afterwards.
