ABSTRACT

This paper develops an evolution model by level of ubiquitous services for “building u-Korea”. First, the required technologies are classified into four levels of ubiquitous technological architecture; networks, middleware, terminal, and application. Secondly, the roadmap for each level is established based on the technological trend, followed by the technological reference model for ubiquitous services proposed in consideration of the developmental status and components of each technological level. According to the developmental status and the roadmap, the evolution models for ubiquitous services are divided into three stages; P-to-M communication stage, context aware stage, and autonomous response stage. The development models of the ubiquitous health and welfare service are then proposed, considering the evolutional stages of the current systems, with application of the models after case analyses of home and abroad.
