ABSTRACT

We have expected the economic affluence would make us happy. This is our present way of life. our ethics. According to Easterlin's Paradox, however, this expectation will turn out to be false. With this prescience should we deliberate about what is wrong with us and how to foster our happiness. The more affluence is good for our happiness, but keeps us away from our body, family, neighbor, and the absolute which are another sources of happiness, because the more affluence require us of more energy and time, otherwise they would be assigned to our body, family, neighbor, and the absolute. However we are making the situation harder even with filling our leisure time with the media consumption. Without the recovery of our happiness that prolonged labor and media consumption have deprived of us would our happiness be tied up and recede. The labor, another source of our happiness, has been misunderstood as the unavoidable pain. The solution which tries to set off the leisure amusement against the labor pain is pseudo. The true solution is experiencing the Flow, the happiness in the labor. In fact, this kind of ethics has been proposed by the various religions. Nowadays we arrive at the same ethics secularly. With the modest pursuit of the material we ought to deepen the relations with our body, family, neighbor, and the absolute. Experiencing the Flow in our job-life we ought to seek the balanced happiness.
