AB - The researcher believes that one of the biggest social issues nowadays is the communication issue and that there are hardly free and humane relationships. (Even though it may be a rather pitiless evaluation) The fundamental standards of human relations based on social common sense(sensus communis) of our society are broken, and there is lack of civil education that is necessary as a civilized citizen in response to external economic development. Furthermore, the adverse effects of the age of technology are expressed as today’s era is often described as a ‘hyper-connected society’ and a ‘hyper-disconnected society’, reflecting the phenomenon of ‘Mixophobia’ just like the analysis of Z. Bauman in numerous cases. This awareness naturally led the researcher’s attention towards Schleiermacher’s conception of sociability(Geselligkeitsbegriff). The first reason is that he proposed the original theory of sociability(eine Theorie der Geselligkeit/Sociability), and secondly, he argued that knowledge is always revealed in relation to practice. This thesis focuses on Schleiermacher’s theory of sociability in his “Theory of Social Behavior”(“Versuch einer Theorie des gesellingen Betragens”)(1799). Social concept is the core concept where his ethics, cultural theory, education theory, social theory and communication theory intersect. In this context, the theme of this thesis shows its aspect of “Thinker beyond the Modern Age”(Denker über die Moderne hinaus) as M. Welker’s title by further extending his image as a theologian, a pastor and a hermeneutist up to now. However, it is by no means worthless to comprehend all the meaning(Gehalt) of this concept. Therefore, this thesis begins before the history of this concept and emphasizes the biographical-education theoretical(bildungstheoretisch) -religion theoretical(religionstheoretisch) perspectives in his theory after clarifying the systematic location and establishment background of his ideology. In addition, his ideological aspect is reconstructed by referring to various studies to explore the possibilities of ‘Imperative of Better Understanding than the Author’(Imperativ des Besserverstehens).
