ABSTRACT

This research have attempted to reveal the relationships between personality type and academic achievement and learning preference through the case of Art High School student, and to suggest the necessity on the characteristics of students for the development of teaching-learing strategy, learning assistance and academic counselling. This study utilized 156 students for the MBTI personality type test. The academic achievement based on the score of geography was compared with the student's personality type, and the learning preference of students was complementally examined by interview questionnaire. The result of this study shows that the personalitys of Art High School student are typical in the type of extroversion, intuition, sensing and perception. The most significantly meaning type of personality was Sensing(S)-Intuition(N) with the comparison of personality type and academic achievement. Through this research it was revealed that personality type in actual affected on the academic achievement and learning preference. This research suggests the fact that if the consideration of personality type is conducted in the instruction course, the interest on the Geography will be increased.
