ABSTRACT

This study has been done to excavate geomorphological landscape resources and to assess the value of such resources in order to design of an ecological and landscape conservation area in the Mt. Sangwon region. The result has shown that the mountains geomorphological landscape of the Mt. Sangwon area consists mainly of talus, tor, and cliff, and demonstrated a particularly remarkable talus development. There was a significant distribution of large talus on Mt. Okgab, with approximately 90 talus found in the research area through aerial photography and field survey. The main river geomorphological landform surrounding Joyang River and Songcheon was found to that has been detected from this research consists of bar, river bed rock, stream cliff, pothole, and river terrace. Also, a plurality of bar had been particularly formed at the sides of the two rivers, which displays an ingrown meander in a specific region has been found. Such plurality of bars was found to have a high value as a tourism resource in relation to the Arirang culture and the Jeongsun region. It is believed that an ecological After, an ecological and landscape conservation area is formed, it is highly recommended to provide and develop the geotourism and storytelling plans focused on the geomorphological landscape resources or Eco-geo programs connected to biological resources.
