AB - 本稿は、日本書紀における‘於’の意味論的な用法の分析とその特徵を槪括的に檢討したものである。以下に合計1947回の結果をまとめてみる。
「場所」として用いられた例は、計1065回(發生場所715回、起点9回、終点341回)で全体の約55%を占める。「時間」として用いられた例は、計59回(發生時間20回、起点8回、終点31回)である。そして、「動作行爲と關係のあるもの」として用いられた例は、計282回(動作行爲の主体者9回、動作行爲の被主体者96回、動作の及ぶ有關對象140回、動作と關係のある對象37回)で、約15%を占める。そして、「比較對象」を表す例が26回、「音仮名」の例が66回(歌謠55回, 訓注9回, 人名1回, 地名1回)が見られた。ここまでは ‘于’にも見られる用法である。
‘於’の固有の用法としては、「訓仮名」が2回、「動作･狀況の發生範囲」が25回、「共同施行對象」が4回、「發生原因」が4回用いられた。そして、「動詞」として7回、「熟語」として、‘於是(391回)’、‘於玆(7回)’、‘於此(1回)’、‘於焉(1回)’が見られた。
一方、古代中國語には用いられる「動作行爲の根據」「意見や諮問の對象」「動作の利益を受ける對象」の用法は日本書紀では見られなかった。反面、誤用(1回)と古代中國語には存在しない「資格」を表す「日本語的な用法(4回)」が用いられたものの、頻度率は0.3％に過ぎないので、周知の通り‘於’は古代中國語の用法に準じて用いられたことが確認できた。
本稿は、すでに分析を行った‘于’と今回の‘於’との比較硏究のための先行硏究であり、これらを基にして、兩字の本格的な比較を行う予定である。
