AB - 韓國における日本文化の開放は、一九九八年十月以降、段階的に實施され、二〇〇四年一月一日の第四次開放までに、日本の出版物の韓國市場での流通はほぼ完全に自由化された。しかし、川端康成の作品が韓國の讀者に讀まれるようになったのは、それ以前、彼がノーベル文學賞を受賞した一九六八年からであった。韓國と日本は同じ漢字文化圈に屬し、兩者は語順も似ているため、韓國では日本語に興味を持つ人は多い。がしかし、同じ漢字語を使用してはいるものの發音や同一語の意味には差異がある。そこで翻譯本の問題点の一つとして指摘されるのが、讀者が目にする韓國語版が原作に沿った形で翻譯されているかどうかという点である。それらのことを比較・檢討し、指摘する人は今日ほぼ皆無なのが現狀である。川端康成の雪國が韓國の讀者に讀まれるようになったのは、ノーベル文學賞を受賞された時からであった。韓國の國會図書館と國立中央図書館に所藏されている資料によると、韓國語版雪國は七十一種類も刊行されているのであるが、翻譯者によってその言葉の表現はさまざまであり、なかには內容の誤りだけでなく削除も目に付く。翻譯の問題点の一つは、讀者が目にする韓國語版雪國が內容通りに翻譯されているかどうかなのであろう。本論では釜山廣域市立図書館に所藏されている翻譯書を對象にし、同じ翻譯者のものを除いた二十冊をもとに、翻譯の言葉を中心に問題点を指摘した。
