AB - 本稿は、比較語彙硏究の有効性を示すために、窓ぎわのトットちゃんとその韓國語譯の語彙を對象として、比較語彙硏究の主たる分析法である意味分野別構造分析法により、韓國語と日本語の語彙比較を行ったものである。
比較語彙硏究の主な關心は、文字通り語の集合としての語彙を對象とする語彙總体論にあるが、從來の語彙總体論では、「Zipfの法則」に代表される語彙の一般的特徵、「樺島の法則」と「大野の法則」による語彙の品詞別構成と文体との關係、また、語彙の語種別構成に見られる特徵などを明らかにしている。しかし、何れの觀点からも語彙同士の比較において各々の語彙の特徵を探るには限界がある。その原因は、語の集合としての語彙にはその基本的性格として意味性と數量性があるが、從來の語彙總体論では語彙の數量的側面にのみ注目したことにある。
一方、語彙の構成要素である個々の語に分類語彙表の意味コードを与え、それを集計すれば意味の數量化が可能になる。このようにして集計された、コード別の構成比を手掛かりにして分析を行うのが、比較語彙硏究の意味分野別構造分析法である。
比較語彙硏究では、從來の語彙總体論とは違い、意味分野別構造分析法により、語彙の意味性と數量性の兩方を活かした分析を行うので、比較對象となる各々の語彙の特徵をさらに詳しく記述することが出來る。實際に、本稿の分析においても、從來の語彙總体論の方法からは捉えられない、色々な意味分野における差を指摘することが出來た。ここに比較語彙硏究の意義および有効性がある。
なお、本稿の目的は比較語彙硏究の有効性を示すことにあったので、差の生じた意味分野のうち、韓國語と日本語の言語構造の違いが見られた幾つかの意味分野について述べるに留めたが、さらに詳細な原因の究明は今後の課題である。それが實現すれば、韓國語と日本語の語彙の實体および特徵をより詳しく記述できるのみでなく、言語(特に、語の「意味」)にはその言語集団の文化が大きく反映されていることを考えると、比較語彙硏究が究極的な目的としている文化の差の指摘も可能になると思われる。
