AB - This article is about the Chinese captive during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in Ulsan. Eranja and Mengigwan were the troops from the Wulin, Hanzhou, Zhejiang during the Japanese invasion(Jeongyujaeran). But they were captured by the Japanese troops during the Ulsan battle. Each of them were captured by the different troops and lived differently in Japan. Eranja was captured by the Yoshimi Motoyori and sent to the Yoshim’s domain. He used his pottery skill for the living. And he married with the local Japanese women and changed his name to Matazaemon. But he had no descendent of the family. So, he adopted a son for the family, but his adopted son also had no descendent of the family. Finally his family name would die with him. Mengigwan was captured by Yoshinaga’s troops and sent to the Japan. He used his medical techniques for the living and he became an Hiroshima han’s medical officer. Taking this opportunity, his sons also became samurai. His one of the son was one that killed the Takebayashi Takashige. His family became an symbol of the fidelity until now. These two persons story telling us the life of the Chinese captive in Japan.
