ABSTRACT

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze Mishina Shoei's “Research about the related to Chousen in Nihonshoki.” The core idea of his research connects Korean ancient history and the ancient history of Korea-Japan relations. At the conclusion, the thesis states that additional researches should be conducted. Thi is because, even though Mishina’s "Research about the record related Chousen in Nihonshoki" appears to suggest that his observations on “Nihonshyoki” are objective and analytical, there is an ambiguity behind Mishina’s standard of judgment within the context of “Nihonshoki” as it is impossible to identify whether it is fabrication or historical fact. Additionally, the thesis indicates that the conventional research commentaries on Korean articles regarding “Nihonshyoki” highlight the issue of authenticity in historical facts instead of errors made in the compilation process.
