AB - Objective This case study was aimed to report improvement of Soeumin patient with Hwabyung(HB; 火病) on Hwabyung(HB) Scale and Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(DITI).
Methods A patient who complained of dyspepsia, general weakness and HB related symptoms was diagnosed with HB. The patient was diagnosed with Soeumin Stomach Heat-based Interior Heat disease. The patient was hospitalized and received Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM) for two weeks. To evaluate the improvement of symptoms, HB Scale and temperature difference of acupoints were used.
Result After 2 weeks of treatment, the severity of symptoms improved, and the symptom scale score of the HB Scale decreased from 44 to 21. The temperature difference between Mingmen(GV4) and Dazhui(GV14) decreased from 2.69℃ to 0.84℃.
Conclusion This case suggests the significance of SCM treatment for HB patient who complained of dyspepsia and systemic symptoms related to HB. HB Scale and temperature difference of acupoints can be used to see the improvement of HB.
