AB - Objectives This paper was aimed to review the preceding research on the origins, changes and constructive principle of Dojukganggi-tang Method Based on Jema Lee’s works such as Dongyisusebowon and Dongmuyugo, we analyzed contents related to Dojeokganggi- tang and its modification. Moreover, we reviewed physiological and pathological pecularities of Soyangin symptomatology and applied the theory to induce the principle of the modified Dojeokganggi-tang in Sasang medicine.
Results and Conclusion 1) The origins of Dojeokganggi-tang might be Hyeongbangpaedok-san, Ohryeoung-san, Sohamhyung-tang, Dojeok-tang.
2) Dojeokganggi-tang had been changed in composition when it reconstructed from Sihogwaru-tang and Cheongeum Dojeok-san 3) Dojeokganggi-tang consists of a) Osterici seu Notopterygii Radix et Rhizoma(羌活), Araliae Cordatae Rhizoma(獨活), Schizonepetae Herba(荊芥) and Saposhnikoviae Radix(防風) which scatter the Pyohan(表寒) and make the Pyoeum(表陰) drop, Peucedani Radix (前胡) which removes phlegm (消痰) b) Trichosanthis Semen (瓜蔞仁) which eliminates kidney phlegm and (豁腎痰), and Scrophulariae Radix (玄蔘) which clears elusive heat and fire (淸無根之火) c) Rehmanniae Radix Recens (生地黃) Akebiae Caulis (木通) which clears heat and fire from chest region (淸胸中之熱)d) Poria Sclerotium(茯苓) and Alismatis Rhizoma(澤瀉) which make Lee-su(利水) effect and the Pyoeum(表陰) drop.
