AB - he purpose of this study is to suggest the need of the special college admission system for the children of multi-cultural families. For this research, it is necessary to investigate the Korea's college entrance system for the children of multi-cultural families and the America's precedents in college admission by an affirmative action.
There are problems about college entrance system for the children of multi-cultural families like the reverse discrimination, maladjustment, illegal entrance, financial problems and so on. Those problems can be solved thorough follow-up management for the students, right understanding about reverse discrimination, selecting students with basic academic skills, and supporting them financially. And a few suggestions about the special college admission system for the children of multi-cultural families are like the below.
First, students with capacity to complete the course of university education should be chosen. Second, it is important to seek a systematic criterion or standard to select the very students that a university wants. Third, the university should support the children of multi-cultural families so that they can maintain their academic work. Fourth, the special admission system for the children of multi-cultural families should be temporarily operated and would be abolished after social discrimination disappears because it is some sort of preferential treatment.
