This study aims to develop an instructional model for Korean speaking class suitable for the <Metaverse King Sejong Institute>. The specific objective of the research is to present detailed teaching content and methods for each stage of the class through lesson plans, enabling application and adaptation in various Korean language education settings. To achieve this, a foundational model was designed based on preliminary research. Subsequently, the model was validated through surveys and focus group interviews (FGIs) involving experts, teachers, and learners associated with the <Metaverse King Sejong Institute>. Incorporating feedback from participating teachers, learners, and experts after pilot operations, the finalized instructional model was established. The finalized instructional model is structured into three main components: pre-learning, main learning, and conclusion. After pre-learning, classes conducted within the metaverse environment are further divided into six sub-stages: introduction & pre-learning review, vocabulary and expression learning, pre-speaking assignment activities, main speaking assignment activities, post-assignment activities, and class conclusion. This study holds significance in addressing the absence of standardized Korean speaking class models within the metaverse environment. Through multiple rounds of consultation with participants and validation through pilot operations, an instructional model specifically designed for the metaverse environment has been developed.
